Minnesotans want to work. Since the start of 2008, Minnesota has lost 127,200 jobs. The worst economic crisis for the Great Depression has left people struggling to support themselves and their families. Unfortunately, politicians and the banks they bailed out have yet to take bold action to help create the jobs we need.

That’s why next week, across the country and here in Minnesota, we’re taking action.  Find an action near you and let’s show those in power that Minnesota wants to work.

Rally to Save Good Jobs – St. Paul
Two Serenity Nursing Homes were given their 60 day “Warn Act” notices of impending closure by their employer. Join members of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota and UFCW 1189 along with community allies, residents and their families to save good jobs and safe care.

Rally for Good Jobs Now! – Brainerd
Join the East Central Area Labor Council, MoveOn.org and the local Senior Caucus at Rep. Cravaack’s Brainerd office to call for good jobs now and his support of the American Jobs Act!

Young Workers UN-Happy Hour – Minneapolis
Young people have been hit harder by the Great Recession than most. Youth unemployment in double the national average, our real wages have declined by 10% over the last 30 years and a third of us don't have health insurance. As young workers we have a lot of be unhappy about. Join the MN Young Workers for an UN-happy hour to meet other young people that care about workers rights and economic justice, and learn about the fight to take back our economy!
